RESCUE PLAN
Make sure you know your home's fire-escape routes in advance: windows with evacuation ladders, the balcony, etc. It is important that everyone knows how to get out of the apartment in case of a fire.
SAFETY
As a tenant, you are responsible for purchasing and installing smoke alarms. If your apartment is over 60 m2, it must have at least two smoke alarms. Install the alarm in the middle of the room, on the ceiling, at least 50cm (20 in) from the wall. Test and replace batteries regularly.
If your apartment already has smoke alarms installed, check that they function properly! Some apartments have fixed smoke alarms that are powered by mains voltage. These are the responsibility of the property managers, and do not need to be checked by tenants.
RESCUE ROUTES
Parking is only allowed in designated parking spaces. Do not park near or in front of entrances as this may block important access routes. Rescue services and property management must have unobstructed access to the building!
